Frank Mir did what he always does when he's under pressure, being held in place like that. He's far too patient, looking for his opening, while taking shots to the face. Same thing he did against Lesnar (2nd fight, round 1) and very evidently against Carwin.

It's like nobody told him that his chin doesn't hold up to powerful close range shots like that, so he's happy to keep eating them.
