Ike Davis strained oblique, likely done for the year. Assuming that's the end, he'll finish with a line of .205/9/33. 101 K's in only 317 AB. He only just got over the Mendoza line for the first time all season like 2 weeks ago.
I had such high hopes for Ike. But with him eligible for his 2nd year of arbitration, I'd say there's a 50/50 shot of him getting non-tendered. Depends on if the Mets feel they can make a play for Abreu or find an acceptable alternative for around the same price Ike will be making (roughly $3.5 million).
What's kinda fucked is that $3.5 million would be an INCREASE for Ike after such a shitty year. Technically, the Mets can offer him the exact same salary as this year, or even 80% of this year's salary. But it never happens. Regardless of what the rules say, everybody gets an increase in arbitration whether they deserve it or not.
