Seriously, doubtful. I think they're *finally* swinging around to the notion of "hey, we can huse teh intarnetsz to WORK ppl LOL!" Mysterious backstage heat and supposed releases simply to give the heel HHH bite with is threats of holding guys' jobs hostage to protect business.

Of course, I don't want to use "fired" in the quotes like I did for DB because that was a different kettle of fish (read: he was legit released with a wink and a nod and resigned right at the end of his noncompete and given a midcard title run for basically keeping his mouth shut), but it's more the same idea of what Heyman did in ECW with the whole "Sandman's blind" angle, where heels and faces co-mingled and Sandman stayed home and let his wife answer the door to completly blur that line.
