THERE'S STILL LIFE IN THE VITA YET.... Well, Sony are trying anyway. First up, a slim redesign AS IS TRADITION. Looks like it has a slightly worse screen, but 1GB storage built in and a whole extra hour of battery life. Also has multiple colours.
Also announced is (to me at least) a much more interesting device: The PSVita TV. Clocking in at $100 (based on a Yen price conversion) and coming out November 14th over in Japan, it looks like a contender for the set-top box wars that no-one seems to give much of a shit about as every single device can now run Netflix anyway. But this one could get my interest.
It's capable of playing PS1, PSP and Vita games on your TV (although games that rely on a touch screen will not work) and it supports remote play like the Vita does meaning you can have this in another room from your PS4 and play in a different room, which could be handy. It will also support DualShock 4 controllers and takes Vita carts as well as digital purchases.
The problem with both of these devices? Those fucking memory cards are still about and they just announced a new one: 64GB for $100. SAME PRICE AS THE FUCKING CONSOLE. Unreal.
