I agree with basically all of the criticisms posted on the past page or so.

That all being said, I have been enjoying this season. I whole-heartedly feel that the show peaked during season 4 and has been treading water ever since. Also agree that season 2 (with a different ending) would have been a much more engaging final season to the show.

I don't have much else to add. Just feel like the show has been going through the motions the past couple years. When the series was first premiered it was such a novel and cool idea, the aura of the show was fresh and I loved every episode. Season 2 had some good drama and season 4 was one of my favourite television seasons ever.

Since then though the "main bad guy" of each season has been largely forgettable IMO. This season, I GET that they want to do the whole "Dexter is evolving" angle but it just isn't... I don't know, not really believable to me. I don't know if it's the writing or the acting or whatever it is but I'm just not buying Dexter as an emotional human being. Maybe I'm just so down on Hannah and as such I can't see her as being the catalyst to humanizing Dexter. Whatever the reason is, I feel this season doesn't strike as hard as it could/should have.

I still love the show, but I feel like I'm more infatuated with what it could have been as opposed to how it actually is. And I hate feeling like a giant wiener for criticizing, 'cause I really have enjoyed much of the series.
