Or you can go all out and have him come from "The Club", "Before Time" or "Another Dimension". A little too comical for a hometime call name and too specific. A call name for a very specific CAW but not a callname for thousands of CAWs that'll come from an actual city.
So if you're making a clubber, a caveman or a spaceman, you have a hometown call name. If you're making someone from an actual city that's not a capital, you've not really got a choice.
Why not introduce a syllable system? Then you can paste togethor the city and or CAW name. I think LOW did that and it actually worked incredibley well and that was the PS2.
I could just skip a bunch of moves but then I'll be in a match and my 7'5 masked wrestler moonsaults someone.
They just, somehow, made it a chore. Maybe if there was something to look at rather than a generic guy and a dull, dark ring and a sterile UI. Make it fun. Give it some kind of feeling.
What about my CAW in a training facility or a gym, in the ring with a trainer doing the moves I'm viewing/selecting while other CAWs (pre-made or other CAWs on the save, maybe even randomly selected from online) are in the background, training, working out etc. I think the dullness of the moveset mode is a big problem. I don't want to be their for long periods of time. It's boring.

You could bill him from Bumfuck Nowhere, but you'd still have the gameplay to deal with.
