Wade Barrett & William Regal

William Regal cuts a promo about his epic career and it sounds like a retirement speech until he slowly grows louder and angrier and goes on a rant about how he hasn't been World Champion and hasn't even sniffed a championship in ages. He decides that he is going to take a page out of the book of the man he mentored 20 years ago -- Triple H. William Regal is going to find the next great superstars and mold them to accomplish things he never quite did.

William Regal joins commentary on several random matches. He ends up watching a Wade Barrett vs Antonio Cesaro for the Intercontinental Championship. He helps screw Cesaro as Wade Barrett becomes IC Champion. Cue Goldust confronting him backstage about ruining the prestige of the IC Championship. Cue Rhodes Bros. vs Regal/Barrett. Regal/Barrett upset the Tag Team Champions. They have a "No Holds Barred Tornado Tag Team Elimination Match" at TLC for the Tag Team Championship. Regal/Barrett win after Kofi Kingston turns heel and interferes to join Regal/Barrett. William Regal gets a token shot at the World Heavyweight Championship at the Royal Rumble thanks to Triple H, but comes up short despite interference from Kofi and Barrett.

The trio have a good long run together helping re-establish Barrett and grooming him to take over Regal's role as the grizzled badass gentleman from Britain and Kofi gets a push. They keep the belts for months until they drop it, but they stay in the title picture. All the while, Barrett is also in the IC Title picture. The stable blows up when Kofi/Barrett finally implode during the 2015 Royal Rumble. Regal tries to talk sense into Barrett the next night on RAW, but gets a bullhammer elbow and the hell beaten out of him with a chair for it. It is announced he is injured badly.

Barrett earns a spot in the Elimination Chamber to earn a World Title shot at Mania. Regal runs down the ramp with brass knucks and beats the shit out of Wade Barrett while they unlock the chamber to let an eliminated person out. Then, at WrestleMania 31, Wade Barrett puts the Intercontinental Championship on the line against William Regal's career. Give them 20-30 minutes and William Regal's career ends with a spectacular midcard match that seems like a fitting end to his career while also helping Wade Barrett and Kofi Kingston re-establish themselves.

Fuck, I love me some Kofi Kingston and Wade Barrett.
