As it is, the Giants get to stay (mildly) relevant for another week. But they'd still need the impossible to happen to win the division. They need to win out, which is going to be pretty damn hard given their schedule. Moreover, Dallas and Philadelphia can only win one more game each. One of those teams getting 9 wins eliminates the Giants. Further complicating this is that they play each other at the end of the year. So they need one team to lose their next 3 and then beat the other team (who could have won no more than 1 game) in the finale. Fun to think about but yeah, not gonna happen.
Giants at least made it a little interesting but in reality the season ended at 0-6. Too big of a hole to climb out of for virtually any team. If they could have avoided some dumb turnovers and hung in there to win, say, the first Dallas game and the Chicago game it would be a different story. But they didn't. Not losing Andre Brown for 8 weeks would have been huge, too.
I do like what I've seen lately though so I have some optimism going into next year. I really hope Beason is back in 2014. They took a low-risk gamble on him and he's been fantastic.
