Was the OP's point that John Cena today isn't as over as Steve Austin was at the end of the Attitude Era?

If so, couldn't we point out that Steve Austin challenging The Rock for the WWF Championship did 1,040,000 buys at WrestleMania X-Seven against John Cena challenging The Rock for the WWE Championship doing 1,039,000 buys at WrestleMania 29. By that logic, they're almost just the same.

John Cena can't and shouldn't be measured against the hottest period of wrestling, he can only help or detract from the current product. And considering his presence has increased views from previous events without him, one would think he's doing more good than harm.
