I wouldn't say awkward, more stupid/confusing.

I'm assuming that it was from some radio show?

What I got from it was "We're talking to Kane here, but we'll all be smartasses and reference an eighteen year old gimmick. Oh, we pissed off Kane because of that. Oh well, let's just talk about how much of a dick he is because he didn't react the way we wanted him to", all the while hearing constant pointless glass shattering sound effects.
