They weren't that much worse the year before when Donald Brown led the team with less than 500 yards rushing and the defense ranked just 5 spots higher (which is actually a small drop off considering how much they had to be on the field with the Curtis Painter run offense going 3 and out constantly). And Peyton still lead them to a playoff berth.
