That's the point though.
If it's true that CM Punk just got really tired with the WWE because of the direction they were taking his character and is willing to miss big paydays in Elimination Chamber and Wrestlemania,
Then money and over-all quality of the product is less important to him than control over his character.
Also, if some of his critics are correct that he's just an attention whore, well then you know what would put him in the spotlight? Going to TNA.
Again, I don't know what is really going on, but based on things he's said and done in the past, the lure of complete control over his character direction might be very attractive. Not just that though, he's got a lot of people he likes personally in TNA.
I fully accept that TNA is complete shit right now for the purpose of this purely hypothetical scenario too. Don't you see the opportunity in taking over a shit product that is desperate enough to give you everything you could ever want or need in terms of artistic freedom? Obviously there's a limit, I doubt we'd see Punk going back to the yards and trampolines or producing stuff on public access. TNA has just enough budget and production value in general that if CM Punk just wanted to come in and put a few of his ideas onto paper he could do it.
Is it likely? If Punk's done with the WWE, it's at least more likely than him going to ROH or Japan.
