He could be a decent big man, but I'm not really digging the foreign heel persona. It's been done and done and done and done, and if Cesaro couldn't make it work with his ring skills, then I'm not sure Rusev and Lana can make it work.
I'd rather see Rusev be brought in as a babyface. There's a heel beat-down on some babyface and Rusev's theme hits and he storms the ring and clears the bad guys out. He makes no allegiances and forms no partnerships, but he goes right after the people the crowd boos.
Lana is hot, but the WWE needs to make people care about her too if she is going to have value as a long-term manager for the company. Who is she? What are her motivations? I'd have her keep her outwardly cold persona, but she must truly believe that Rusev is the man to make a legacy with in WWE. She's a smart woman, and truly knows what's "best for business." There is room for a heel turn down the track when she finds someone who can make her more money than Rusev (ideally this would be in a title match, where she realizes tht she as a chance to join the champion as opposed to taking a risk with Rusev), or when Triple H and Stephanie McMahon want to get her on side.
