when did fans become assholes?
with the hoopla over the crowd trying to be the show in Chicago and failing miserably, and with watching old raws on the network it got me wondering....when did crowds get vocal and what is the biggest cause for it?
this old raw from 93 has bob backlund against kimchee in the middle of the show, a match that today would be completely shit on by most crowds as glorified squash matches have been moved away from. but the crowd just sits there fat dumb and happy eating it up
was it ECW? did those vocal crowds leave the bingo hall and infiltrate into bigger cities and arenas and did word spread that it's ok to start chants of whatever off beat bullshit you can
was it fans got spoiled during the MNW's? did that option of having 2 shows to watch and competitive drive from both companies cause the fans to be bratty once there became only one show in town? now that they wont leave the product because they once liked it they just bitch vocally?
or was it the internet? has the IWC "grown up" and now that age group is out there buying tickets to shows and will do whatever they can to make the show about them
also what was the first PPV or live crowd you guys remember that started a chant that didn't follow the script or took over the show?
