Fans haven't been getting what they've wanted, and they're letting WWE know. The Daniel Bryan chants are the crowds telling WWE "this is our guy, regardless of what you think you're doing." The CM Punk chants aren't fans being assholes, they're fans literally saying "we want Punk." In a more drawn-out sense, they're saying "we want Punk, and we don't have him because you didn't keep him happy." The random chants, the Randy Savage ones, or the ones for the commentators, are basically more interesting versions of "boring" chants. If social media is in any way a part of this, it's only because the guys sitting at home saying "man fuck this, Daniel Bryan should be at the top" now know that everyone else agrees with them, so if they start chanting his name, they're not going to look like some lone asshole. And if your'e going to "blame" social media, then you have to "blame" WWE for dry humping Twitter, Tout, and the WWE app so damn much.
