I had hoped he'd at least make it to next Monday and drop it to somebody worthy after being able to then claim he'd held the title for exactly one year.
I hope I'm proven wrong, but I don't think Sheamus as United States Champion will fare very well, and I fear it may even dimimish the title's prestige even more than Ambrose not defending it more than perhaps a half-dozen times in nearly a year.
Honestly think maybe the best thing that could happen to the United States Championship would be to have it unified with Bad News Barrett's Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam.
