I imagine folks will be divided about this variation. It is undoubtedly a HUGE fan service to those (including me) who loved Miller's Dark Knight.

Keep in mind, we could also see the suit change during the film. Remember in The Dark Knight, he starts with his 'no head turn' suit, then quickly adapts it to what we now know.
