So Layla gave an interview to a website while over here in the UK. One thing she said, is leading people to believe that she might be leaving the WWE/retiring this year.

It’s been revealed this week that World Wrestling Entertainment – or WWE as it’s better known – star Layla El would love to take part in this year’s Strictly Come Dancing…

And she’s certainly got the CV for it, given that she started her career as a professional dancer working on cruise ships, and has been a backing dancer for US star Kanye West and our own Elton John among others.

Speaking to Bang Showbiz about her Strictly ambitions, Londoner Layla said, “I’ve been watching Strictly and I have to say, I definitely want to be a part of that.

“I’m absolutely up for doing it.”

Adding that she wants to return to England for good this year, she added, “I think I’d be a ‘character’ on it…

“Everyone would either love me or hate me, but I’d definitely get a reaction.”

The WWE Diva added, “I want to say congratulations to Abbey Clancy who won last year and not only that, I have to say congrats to Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman [who’s replacing Sir Bruce Forsyth], girl power!”

However, she cheekily remarked, “If they ever need a replacement, they better make sure they call me up. I’ll come and host the show.”

But returning to her career as a dancer, Layla said, “I miss dancing; it’s something I’ve always done since I was a little girl.

“I trained at Italia Conti [and] I’ve danced with a lot of stars in the UK like Ms. Dynamite, Elton John and Blue as well as people like P. Diddy, Mace, Kanye West and Jamie Foxx in the US.”

Would you like to see Layla on Strictly? Well, watch this space because we will of course let you know if she lands a role, but in the meantime, you can see her and a whole host of other wrestling stars in the WWE Live WrestleMania Revenge tour…

There’s a performance tonight at London’s O2, which will be followed by shows at the Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield on Tuesday, the Belfast Odyssey Arena on Wednesday and then the O2 in Dublin on Thursday.

It's the "Adding that she wants to return to England for good this year" line, that's making people think that she could be leaving/retiring.
