I'm most likely just looking too much into it, but one of the first things I thought of when I saw that Pac-Man was in the game, was that we'll probably be getting a Pac-Man Amiibo figure soon, and that it could possibly be used for Mario Kart 8.

What makes me think that, is that included in the Special Thanks section of the Mario Kart 8 credits, it thanks "BANDAI NAMCO Studios Inc." and "BANDAI NAMCO Games Inc.", even though (to my knowledge) there is no Bandai Namco characters or tracks included in the game, but Nintendo and Namco do have some history when it comes to Mario Kart. (Arcade GP/GP 2/GP DX)

So maybe we'll get Pac-Man in Mario Kart 8 soon.
