They should have taken a look at him before they put him in the limelight (As CyNick already said).
When someone looks bad, you don't give him more of a push.
To borrow from the sports analogies prior, if a football (The American kind) player by some fluke makes it to the lineup, and ends up responsible for several turnovers (Through interceptions and fumbles) and many bonehead incompletes, would you A) Throw to him more, B) Sack him, C) Market him well and hope he'll make it to New England and sabotage their chances for a repeat.
