(reason being he should hold the IC title for a while before challenging for the Heavyweight title to re-establish some credibility)

Orton claims that there are no great legends left to kill outside of Evolution on RAW, and Kane comes out and brings it to Orton.
They go at it for a few weeks, building up to a real Hardcore/Cell match. Something that there can be no outside interference, but no DQ, and where anything goes.
Orton puts up a great match, but when Kane looks dead and buried, he hits Orton with 3 tombstones, and pins him for the win.
