I remember that moment. I was a little 13-year-old HBK mark when that happened, and I seriously believed that he was done. Very well-done angle, and they stretched it out well (leading to the "will-he-even-be-at-the-Rumble-oh-yeah-he-just-won-it" lead-in to Wrestlemania).

Side note, I was at the IYH where Diesel and Shawn beat Yoko/Bulldog/Owen. That was a surprisingly good PPV when you consider the roster they were working with at the time. The Bret Hart/Jean-Pierre Lafitte match is way underrated, imo.
