It sure is.

Here's the one that happened in 1981.

It featured Atsushi Onita/Masa Fuchi versus Ricky Morton/Eddie Gilbert.

This one is possibly even more nastier then the one in 1979.



Onita and Gilbert were both heavily influenced by this match and the Memphis style.

Onita created FMW based around wild hardcore matches like this using all sorts of stuff.

Eddie Gilbert booked the early ECW shows much like Memphis.
