^ I'm sorry, but aren't flags tangible? And, if it's being treated like an idol, then isn't it a tangible idol? One of us missed the point here, and it very well could have been me.

Anyway, I think it's stupid to play national anthems at sporting events (except the Olympics and World Championship type things, natch), just like I think the Pledge of Allegiance is a stupid thing to recite at the beginning of a school day.
