Next time Steve Austin does a podcast, slap some money on that. Who wouldn't pay to see Austin interview Shane McMahon? It's unlikely he'll be involved in the WWE with his business ventures in China, but if he's able to do an interview for the Network, I could see it generating a lot of views.
The same goes for one with The Undertaker when he finally retires. Have Bray Wyatt do one with Austin as the lead-up to the Undertaker vs. Wyatt match this year. Have Austin claim that he's doing to get to the bottom of what makes this cat tick. Why challenge The Undertaker? Just who the hell is Sister Abigail? Have Bray stay in character the whole time as Austin asks him all sorts of questions about his time as Husky Harris and what it was like down in NXT training. Wyatt can attack Austin at some point, laying him out, to create not only a buzz, but a "can't miss" vibe to the podcast. Charge $6.16 (the true "Number of the Beast") for it, and I guarantee it could bring in the WWE some extra cash. If the money is spent split evenly three ways between Austin, Wyatt and Vince, then these guys just need to convince 162,338 people to click that little button to make a million each. That's 16.3% of current Network subscribers. Even if they don't get that sort of penetration, that's not bad for a one-off appearance.
There has been some question about what happens to talent's PPV pay nowadays. This would help address that problem. Talent might not get paid as much for traditional PPV specials now, but if they become a big enough deal that people will pay to see them get interviewed by Stone Cold, Chris Jericho, Jim Ross, or whoever they want to bring in, then they can get a big packet that way. Or they can earn the money by getting people to order their "platinum" matches on the Network. They just apparently taped Cesaro vs. Adrian Neville at one of their NXT live events. You don't think there are enough people out there that would pay just $2 to see that match?
I looked for a Cesaro vs. Neville clip from YouTube. 127,263 people have viewed it. That would be $254,526. Split three ways, that's $84,842. Now, granted, those are the views it has received as free content. But even if just everybody who liked it ordered it, then that's 605 paying customers. That's without it being promoted on the Network as a "classic that every WWE fan must watch!". That's an extra $1,210 the WWE makes off that match. That could potentially be an extra $403 that Cesaro and Neville both make off that one match.
