But, at the same time, I don't know that I can really figure out anyone else who's a legitimate choice to do it. It's a little bit of the Brock Lesnar conundrum where there's no one who's anywhere close to the world-beater level that would be required for it to make sense--other than Cena, because he's been booked as relatively unbeatable for over a decade now.
Sure, they could give it to an NXT call up, like Neville, but then what? I have trouble legitimately hoping that anyone they call up that they give it to would still be doing anything in six months.
It should probably go to someone who's semi-established already and moving upwards, but who's that going to be? I could see them using it to get Ziggler over
again, but that's probably never going to happen.
After being unbeaten for this long, it's kind of passed the threshold of being thrown away as a short term boost to a guy and moved into "big deal" territory, and there aren't many people who are in a position to a) deserve it b) use it and/or c) be believable in it.
It's kind of a shame, because in the past six months, they've had a whole clump of guys who were all hugely over and could have taken advantage, but they've pretty much murdered all the momentum those guys, like Ziggler and Ambrose, had.
Which means if he doesn't lose to Cena at Wrestlemania, he'll probably lose to Sin Cara on a random Raw in a few months.
