And if I'm not mistaken, the events of MK9 should have rendered many characters missing or at least in a different state.

And now we have popular characters return and people think the mind control plot was first penned and then returns happened. This is seriously not how fighting games are designed.

One of the reasons fighting game backstories are often absurd is because when characters are created or chosen from the franchise backlog, they choose in regard to player options/expectations. After the fact, a story is penned to explain the when and whys a character is participating in tournament/invasion/whatever. It's not always logical. But so what, players have their characters. I know MK takes more effort in their mythology than most, but reality ensues.

That so many characters returned, as I thought, and they of course would have a story explaining it is you guys putting the cart before the horse. I never argued that there wouldn't be an explanation. What you guys are doing are looking at the results I been called out, and rearranging the priorities in such a way that I wasn't correct.

Can some of you entertain the possibility that the roster may have been constructed how I said? Just for curiosity?
