Then again maybe he is Ned's kid as his adherence to honor does border on the RIDICULOUS how different would the entire realm be if Ned wasn't so stupidly committed to his word(but it also probably saved Jons life)

Also I don't see the downside to Stannis offer you'd think stomping the Boltons into the fucking ground would be a sweet sweet deal.
