Simmons was extremely confident in his pre-draft podcast last week, and I can't say I blame him. The Pats aren't perfect but who else in the AFC looks like a super serious threat?

Broncos lost one of their top weapons and are relying on Peyton's health to cooperate all year. Colts are pretty much a one-man team with a terrible GM who just happened to fall ass-backwards into the best QB prospect since Peyton. Ravens and Steelers are usually always decent but almost never have the "oh shit" factor where you absolutely dread facing them. The Bengals don't seem to realize that football extends beyond wild card weekend. The rest of the AFC East seemed to get better but each team individually has a lot of question marks still.

A lot can happen between now and September but for now I'd tend to agree with Simmons' assessment that the Pats still feel like the most formidable team. The FU mode soon to come only makes them seem more enticing.
