Top Games of the 7th Generation

I think it is safe to say the 7th generation of video game consuls has come to a close. Sure a few games might still come out and they will most likely still suppor the systems for a few more years. But we have now seen all there is worth mentioning.

So I was thinking about what I consider the top games of the generation. This is my personal list that came down to my enjoyment and has nothing to do with critical rating, copies sold or anything else.

4. Assassin's Creed 2 - This is where we are introduced to my favorite video game character (and strong running for one of my top fictional characters) of all time, Ezio Auditore da Firenze. Not only did they replace silent, brooding, stoic Altaïr with an actual character, but they greatly improved the game. Made it so you can walk briskly without the guards coming down on you. Fantastic game.

3. Mass Effect - This was the 3rd game I bought for the X-Box 360, and now the old disk for the 360 I still owe. I wore out 1 controller and red ringed my 360 playing this and still wanted more. It was the first time I ever saw that I thought was beautiful. The music I still enjoy listening too. Also I love the Mako.

2. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - I have Played through this like 5 times now. The other games on this have oddly personal reasons for being on here, Skyrim does as well. But when I think back to the shear number of hours I played, I knew it had to be in the number 2 slot. Though I do love walking around at night in the snow while that really string heavy ,us in plays.

1. Red Dead Redemption - Best horse riding in any video game. I don't ride a horse in Skyrim or Assassin's Creed because they don't work like they do in Red Dead. Besides that, some of the best story telling I have seen. It just pushed all the right buttons. Red Dead is probably also my favorite game of all time.

I know top 4 is kind of a weird number for a top list. These are the top in my mind and heart by a wide margin.

Don't argue with me either, these are my top games. You are welcome to your own for what ever reasons you have.
