Toronto fans of most sports are awful. I find most of my friends aren't obnoxious we just want the team to do well, but so many people are just so dumb. If the Jays lose to Texas it'll be the end of the world and they'll all be bums after being hailed as gods 2 weeks ago.
Can't deal with all the "trends", remember the #lovethisteam from a couple of years ago when Anthopolous made those signings... I kept saying they weren't going to be good because it takes a couple of years to form a team, especially because they just picked up a bunch of question marks and a knuckleballer, new to the AL. And everyone thought they were a lock for the world series because nobody understands sports in this city. The fans and the coverage here damned near make me hate the Leafs, but thanks to Doug Gilmour, Wendell Clark, Cujo and Gary Roberts, I'm stuck for life. I just avoid a lot of it still, I refuse to watch an inferior product on the ice or the baseball field. If the team is competing and "in the mix" I'll watch them flounder in big time situations because that's what it's all about, but I'm not going to watch multi billion dollar corporation run teams put a bunch of Barry Horowitz level jobber teams on the ice or the baseball diamond. Yet every year, like battered wives, Toronto fans come out with all of their gusto and it is fucking annoying. At least with the Jays, the fans stop going to the games when they suck ass.
