You're missing some key points to this. A) I'm assuming its well known she is a home wrecking whore. B) Im assuming shes a dime a dozen blonde bimbo that could be replaced by 1000 different girls.
It would be like hiring someone to be a cashier at Walmart. You know lots of people could do the job just as effectively. You get a candidate and another Walmart store manager says she sleeps around and has caused tons of problems which bled into people's work. You may look at that person, and go no thanks.
Now obviously that would be somewhat difficult to prove, but the sports entertainment business is a relatively small one, and people talk, so its possible for a story like that to get out. Its also very possible for some lowlife person to completely make up a story like that because they are jealous.
