Bungie changed their long term plans for Destiny again. Dropping big expansion type packs in favor of smaller event based stuff for future content. Also will be releasing a new stat tracker for the game's micro-transaction system next month.

In the past, it was rumored the developer was giving up on large-scale DLC packs, which was shot down, noting that it was going to focus on both. Now it sounds like the big DLCs are out again, as Bungie's Derek Carroll has stated to Eurogamer that they are "moving to a more event-based model."
When asked about DLC packs, Carroll noted that "Rather than doing these giant, monolithic DLC packs [we're moving to events], this way everybody who's an owner of Taken King can enjoy these things." The next phase for Destiny is the three-week Sparrow racing event, debuting in January, which will have an optional $10 microtransaction-based "book," that keeps track of your stats and quests.
