Most Sports are concerned about HIV/AIDS

What about Sports "entertainment."

Thought came to me last night, though it probably should have come earlier. You have a match where all four men are bleeding, not due to accidents, but becausethey bladed themselves. It struck me. Th WWE and all similar organisations encourage their people to bleed to make the sport look more dangerous, more real. NWA, WCW, ECW. There's been a lot of real blood bled in these rings.

I'm wondering how serious the WWE and other organisations take the worry of blood-transmitted diseases. While not as big a deal as for the porn industry, where fluid was directly swapped, there's still a great potential for transmission.

“There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.”
