The point of the storyline is Shane ISNT a superstar, and has no chance against Taker. You can't tell the same story with a guy on the current roster against Taker. Unless it was someone like Zack Ryder or Hornswaggle. But they wouldn't add value to the match like Shane does.
It always amazes me how people can take a segment as cool as that and pick it apart. The crowd literally list their minds when he came out.
