Exactly what I was thinking... like it seems like all of the reactions are just because "this is what the writers wrote so we're doing it". Jericho's anger was tremendous but it doesn't make sense that someone would be so angry because AJ Styles is getting his name chanted.

I disagree, think this has been built up well. Styles comes in and he's the new kid of the block that everyone's excited about. Meanwhile Jericho is the veteran, growing old disgracefully, struggling with the idea that his time is coming to an end. Since the Rumble the fans' acceptance of Styles over Jericho has hit the switch in Jericho's head that has turned him into the angry, bitter and condescending heel he's always excelled at being.
Now it's confirmed, I can't wait for the match.
