Speaking of the umpires not knowing their shit, good on Ausmus for going out on the field and standing up for his players. So many complaining about the strike zone just cannot be wrong. I'm sure a lot of experts and maybe some here and other places even, would argue it's up to each ump's discretion but it isn't. The strike zone is a clearly defined boundary on and around the area of home plate, and when umpires are calling strikes in areas where it's not even close and continue doing so for the better part of a game, they NEED a manager in their face to correct the error of their ways.

The late George "Sparky" Anderson (RIP greatest Detroit Tigers manager of all-time) would be proud.
