A-Rod's rep confirms that he will not play again in 2016.
He hasn't ruled out keeping in shape and playing in 2017. Since the Yankees are on the hook for his salary any team that signs him would just have to pay league minimum.
Maybe a few AL teams float offers bring him aboard to try to market the chase for 700 home runs. At the same time though, any team that does that is basically advertising that they don't really view themselves as contenders. Tough to imagine A-Rod bothering at this point.
