MLB is praying for Boston to make it to the World Series so they can milk the Big Papi Retirement Tour angle as long as possible.

Big Papi retirement vs. Cubs World Series drought is the matchup they most certainly want, although the Even Year Giants making yet another run to the playoffs is an easy sell for them too.
