Vince was losing faith in Randy Savage, and although a great man, his time to be the guy had probably faded, but he did win the WWF Title at WrestleMania the year previous and was their chosen guy to be the runner-up to Yokozuna in the Royal Rumble in that atrocious finish. A pin in a Rumble? Did Vince get Savage to do that just so he had enough evidence to keep to him at the commentary desk.

Savage would have had more use than, say, Tatanka. I don't know if you want to put him against Shawn Michaels, with Michaels being the cocky prick that thinks his shit doesn't stink defending against one of the greatest Intercontinental Champions ever, or if you use Savage to try and make Razor or Yoko, but he can surely do something. Fuck, kick out Beefcake and put Hogan & Savage together as Tag Champs.
Oh, by the way, what the fuck is going on there? Hogan getting intentionally disqualified in the Tag Title match, then the impromptu ending to WrestleMania -- if I were watching, things like Hogan superseding the World Title the year prior, deliberately throwing matches I wanted to see him win and then crashing matches I didn't want him to be anywhere near may have forced me to take a hiatus from watching wrestling.
