You're allowed to find him entertaining. As a kid, I always found The Rock obnoxious and hoped that anyone he was in the ring with would kick his ass. That doesn't make my opinion on the matter objectively correct. I would never try to make the argument that The Rock isn't charismatic because nothing drew me to him.

I think you're assessment on the "YES!" chants are a little off. Bryan started the gimmick on SmackDown, as an over the top heel, chanting "YES!" to celebrated being the World Heavyweight Champion. If you haven't seen that run, I strongly recommend it. I never thought I would buy Bryan as a heel, but he was absolutely brilliant.

The loss to Sheamus at WrestleMania 28 did it. Fans felt robbed because they knew what a great wrestler he was, and when they got screwed out of Sheamus vs. Bryan AGAIN, they thought that was enough. It was based on the odyssey Bryan had taken to get to that spot, the skills he had acquired over years and years of training, and how the company handles talent like that. And that was the story they told too. Maybe some kids who didn't really get anything about Bryan didn't get the story at first, because they believe the WWE's story that there's only WWE, but even WWE was saying "No, this guy's career goes beyond us."

Pavlovian chanting is when you hear people saying "Yeah!" after Eli Drake yells "Dummy!". There's no magic to that whatsoever. "When I say dummy, you say yeah...dummy...I wasn't talking to you" is probably the...fuck, I can't even describe how stupid it is. It's like he's seen The Rock call out the fans for singing along, but he hasn't grasped the context, that The Rock was over, and that Rock didn't say "sing along" before telling them not to sing along.
