What probably played a part in that was the fact that TNA is shown on Challenge over here, which everyone gets as it's available no matter what cable/satellite provider you go with and which of their packages you buy, whereas WWE is only shown on Sky Sports, which you have to pay an extra £30 at the most to get the Sky Sports channels and that's on top of what you're already paying to your cable/satellite provider.
You can watch Raw on Sky 1 which is another channel everyone gets, but it's been condensed into an hour so you lose a lot from the full three hour show.
