People will go overboard here about how far apart this one is, but it's really not.

HHH has so many great matches and feuds under his belt over his career. Many more memorable feuds than Savage had. Some of his matches with Austin/Foley/Michaels were so good and it wasn't a decent wrestler being carried. It was a world class wrestler having a world class opponent. He had an awesome gimmick and entrance and had no real weakness in his "Game", if you will. 8/10, at least, in every area.

If you doubt how over he was at times, go to the network or YouTube and watch his Royal Rumble comeback after his injury. History won't be kind because of his politics, but there was a world class performer in there for many years. He can still produce good matches today at his age, something Savage struggled to do.

Having said all of that, Savage star shined brighter and his peak was higher. His feud with Hogan, Jake and Flair were massive feuds with real emotion and produced moments still talked about to this day. I don't think Hunter ever reached those dizzy heights. Few, if any, have ever reached them.

It is hard to compare them because their styles are so different, both on the mic and in the ring, but Savage edges it for me because he was a real innovator. As well as creating an iconic character, he was doing things in the ring that guys like Punk would copy two decades later.

While Triple H's legacy in the business could end up being the man who decided the entire sports direction, Savage legacy as a wrestler and a personality is infinite.
