Yeah the trend itself is not new, just it being the usual sign of when the WWE gives up and rather just wait till they get closer to a big event/phase to start meaningful stuff. Seen bad when its not happening during their down period or with too many shows in a row.

PWI had an article recently about a similar issue when trying to explain WWE's recent struggles. One of the topics focused on WWE's booking and their bad habit of wasting a lot of time that could have been used for trying more new ideas or building up people better.
