The first DIVA search was a battle between Christy Hemme and Carmella DeCesare. Carmella made it to the finals via 'being hot' but never seemed interested in WWE or seemed to really care. Competitors Carmella defeated who were eventually hired by WWE included:

* Joy Giovani (she was portrayed on SD as "Big Show's special friend Joy, who likes to bake cookies"...led to Michael Cole screaming Big Show had "Frying Pan Sized Hands" every match he was in)

* Amy Weber (she who infamously had her bag pooped in by Randy Orton and was given the onscreen role as JBL's valet during his WWE main-event run).

Carmella DeCesare was hired by WWE after the Diva Search and had a 'Lingerie Pillow Fight' with Christy Hemme at the infamous Taboo Tuesday p-p-v. Despite being popular for her looks and more over than Hemme with live crowds, WWE released DeCesare a few weeks after Taboo Tuesday due to "a really bad attitude backstage". DeCesare then retired from acting and wrestling and took a job working for her husband (NFL player Jeff Garcia)'s charity, 'Pass It On'.
