It's a HUGE factor to me. Steamboat/Savage from WrestleMania III owes a lot to Hogan/Andre drawing people in to give it that crowd to help it stand out so much. You run Steamboat/Savage on a show that no one gives a fuck about, then just how mythical does it become? How many matches on Velocity would have been considered 4-to-6-star classics if they had just happened in Japan?

Steamboat/Savage also probably had more buzz about it than almost anything Jericho has ever done, frankly. Hogan/Andre was definitely the "bigger" match, but Steamboat/Savage was no non-factor. Just pointing that out, because I feel it is a false analogy to make.
