Oddly enough, the last question was the easiest for me to answer.

Meanwhile, though the decade in question is within my lifetime, I didn't really care all that much outside of the gimmicks and personalities. Wrestling was just entertaining and something I could emulate with toys and/or my older brother.

I actually had to take a step back and realize that there is a lot of stuff I either totally don't remember, or conflated from later learned late 70s history or early 90s stuff.
