I'm watching it now. (I know the results). I know Cody isn't like some bonkers out of this world "workrate" guy (though he's prty good), but I'm a HUGE fan of his presentation.

Also, he managed to use some moxy to reinvigorate the NWA championship (along with Billy Corgan's effort). Even if it's only "highly regarded" in the tiny smark community, that's something considering how little it's meant for a long time. Whether that feeling of prestige lasts longer than a month remains to be seen.

But, if Cody focuses on promoting the belt as a big deal (along with Billy Corgan's smarts) then there could be a chance and keeps steadily building it up. Fingers crossed. It helps a lot that the Rhodes name is synonymous with NWA. And now more than ever he carries himself like a Rhodes. If he can keep producing and promoting matches that have big fight feels, who knows what's to come? And if some famous sports analyst with ties to "the old days" of territories gives it some shine it could help even more.

IMO, the key is to not compete with the WWE. Just do your own thing. They'll have their talent raids, but appeal to your niche and it could keep growing if the product speaks to them.

TBH I don't even know what I'm talking about. Whether it's "The Indies", the NWA championship, or Cody as a wrassling icon. I just hope one of those things keeps growing to help wrestling grow even more.
