Because she isn't who they want to be the star of the division. They will use her while she's hot, but they will do their absolute best to cool her so they can back to Ronda, Charlotte, Alexa and Nia.

Although, with that scenario, Nia would be the one to most likely end up turning and we would have Nia as a face yet again and it would move her closer to being "The Big Show of the Women's Division" with the amount of times she's turned.

The latter does sound better as Nia is sort of expendable at the moment as she's kinda lost what made her interesting when she first appeared, with her rusty promos and a face run that destroyed all the intimidation she had.

However, knowing what fans are like now, it doesn't matter at all who is a face and who is a heel. A returning Becky taking revenge on Nia is going to get a pop and make Becky a face (in the eyes of most fans) no matter what.

Becky could punt a puppy into the crowd every time she finishes attacking Nia and the fans would still cheer for her.
You've just seen the set-up for Ronda vs. Becky. I don't know why you think it would need to change? Becky is already a babyface. Listen to the audiences.

I appreciate the creativity, but it all runs into a wall when you consider the fact that Nia is terrible. I don't get where this desire to see Nia featured anymore heavily, given we've seen how shit that is, comes from.

She's had the potential ever since WWE were dumb enough to try and turn her heel. But it depends on if they want her to be a star within their terms or not. Becky is supposed to be a supporting cast member. They change their mind with people when they get hot, sometimes, but other times they like to cool them back down to levels they are comfortable with. Becky might be in luck because they need a Mania match and she might be the hottest women's act around then. But she might also be unlucky, because if the fans chant "We want Becky!" through Nikki Bella vs. Alexa Bliss or whatever the the fuck, he might get pissed off and make sure she's thrown under every moving bus they've got.

That's all good until, again, you run into the point where Nia is terrible. She's not a very good wrestler. That is why she doesn't get the "passes" Seth Rollins gets, or the "shit happens" waving of the hand. She's always fucking up and "shit happens" when she's around. It's the same reason Brie got shit on. When you're not very good and people see you put into positions where it's obvious you're not very good, they frag the fuck out of you.
