In each given country, it's obvious that the sports that are going to be covered the most are going to be the ones that the country has the best chance of winning a gold medal in. Media outlets are interested in ratings & money, and obviously if there are Americans or Australians, or whatever, involved then there are going to be more people who are going to watch it.
The main thing that I'm going to be looking forward to is Roy & HG. During the Sydney Olympics they mostly focussed on the sports that not many people watch (like the Greco Roman Wrestling, for example) and make up piss funny names for all of the moves and interview random athletes asking stupid questions.
